Hello there!

If you’re reading this, your name came up and we would love to have you in our workshop!

DCLA is a collective created by directors for directors, focused on improving our craft in working with actors through a supportive and playful environment. Our workshops offer a unique opportunity for actors to collaborate with 14-20 working directors, gain exposure, and build connections for future projects.

Participation is open to LA-based actors (or those frequently in town). While unpaid, this is a valuable chance to refine your skills, expand your network, and—most importantly—play.

To join, submit a tape so we can match you with scenes that showcase your strengths. If selected, you'll be invited to a 2.5-hour session in DTLA, requiring only the memorization of a short (2-3 page) script.

We look forward to seeing your work!

Record a self-tape

No slate required. Please record two takes of the script, each with a distinct interpretation based on the directions provided below:

DIRECTION 1: INT. Living Room - Night

Takes place in your living room. You have fallen in love with this person you’ve been seeing for the last six months. You invited them over to your place because you really want to take this to the next level. Charm them so they feel more comfortable to open up to you.

DIRECTION 2:  Int. Bar. Night

Takes place in a bar. A friend — with whom you’ve had a falling out — asked to meet and talk. This is the first time you’re truly confronting them about a pattern you never understood.
